About us.
Auckland Marine Services is owned and operated by Pieter Barneveld. Pieter has over 30 years experience in the New Zealand and international marine sector.
A marine engineer and qualified commercial skipper, Pieter started his marine experience at age 7 sailing in the Hauraki Gulf and still spends every available moment on the water. His breath of experience on all sizes and types of vessels gives a wide knowledge base to call on and a contact list of the very best specialists in all things marine.
Pieter’s specialist skill is in diagnosis. Getting to the root of an issue by working through all the possible options. This work can save thousands and ensures the right experts get to work on the issue quicker.
Our ambition is for boats to be regularly used for safe, respectful and enjoyable marine adventures. This starts with building good skipper and boat handling skills and knowing that your vessel is operating efficiently and safely. Then you can enjoy those days on the water.
